This isn't required reading, but you should read it anyway.
Okay. This goes along with rule number 5. This is an open topic, btw, so you can add suggestions to the list. Or PM them to me.
If your characters go and have sex, tell me. There is a 50% chance they will get pregnant. Why? Because I want to discourage this act, and it's realistic. I will do it fairly by flipping a coin.
Animagus
An Animagus can change into the form of an animal. The magic for this transformation is complicated and very advanced, and very few wizards even attempt it. When a wizard transforms into his or her animal form, some visual clue typically connects that form to the human. For example, McGonagall and Skeeter both wear glasses and their Animagi forms include marks around the eyes.
-Animagi, or Animagus aren't super rare, however, your character MUST be a sixth year or up to apply OOCly to be one. You will have an IC history as to why and how you became one, so that's covered.
Arithmancer
An Arithmancer is a person who is an expert on Arithmancy. This means that this isn't very rare, but a third year wouldn't be able to be an Arithmancer. Fifth year+ seems more likely.
Legilimens
A Legilimens is a Wizard who has learned the art of Legilimency, sensing the thoughts of another person. Dumbledore and Snape are both experts at this form of magic. Voldemort is also an accomplished Legilimens.
-In other words, I highly doubt students will be able to do this. However, beg me with good reasons, and I'll consider it for an older student, like 7th year.
Metamorphmagus
Unlike some of the other types listed here, Metamorphmagi are born with the ability to change their appearance at will.
-Metamorphmagi are so exceedingly rare, you'll have to seriously convince me as to why your character should be this way.
Occlumens
The skill of Occlumency allows a person to block the efforts of a Legilimens to probe their thoughts and memories. A person who practiced that rare skill is called an Occlumens.
- This, I'll allow to a degree. Make it reasonable, of course. 5th year and up.
Parselmouth
The ability to speak the language of snakes and to command them is extremely rare.
Yeah, on this one, you're more likely to get me to agr to let you be a Metamorphmagus.
Seer
Another rare gift is the Inner Eye, the ability to prophesy. A wizard with this gift is called a Seer.
Yeah, this one isn't super duper rare. But still, you have to ask for it.
Werewolf
A human who was bitten, or born (DH) who turns into a blood-thirsty killer on the full moon, unless a certain potion is taken. Of course, some werewolves prefer to eat or bite others off the full moon. But, the bitten only turns into a werewolf if bitten on the full moon, as explained in HBP.
